Welcome to the Tweenies Class!

The Tweeny class consists of children ages 13 months to 2 years of age. In the Tweeny class, language development is encouraged by storybook reading, singing songs, and learning rhymes. Fine motor skills are developed through many fun art projects, as well as playing in the sensory table with water, rice, and shredded paper. Children will grow spiritually in the Tweeny class through weekly Bible lessons, as well as monthly chapel services. Daily visits to the gym and outside playtime will strengthen children’s gross motor skills.

In the Tweeny class, children transition from using high chairs to sitting at a table for meals and from using a crib to laying on a mat at naptime. A safe and loving environment is provided for children as they enter this new phase of learning!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Tweeny Room!  My name is Amanda Whirt and I will be your child’s teacher for the fall 2018 session, our first day will be on August 27, 2018.  I live in Ephrata with my fiancé and our two children, Talan is five and Penelope is three, they both attend Kinder-Haus.   In the Tweeny class your child will be sitting at a table for meals, using his/her spoon, using a sippy cup, singing songs, learning Bible lessons, coloring, painting, making crafts, playing on the playground (gym for inclement weather) and learning to play with other children.  During the Fall Session there are some special activities planned.  Please refer to your Fall School Calendar for those events.  I will also inform you of upcoming events.

Some More Information:

Breakfast is served between 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM.  If your child will be arriving after 8:30 please make sure they had breakfast before arriving at Kinder-Haus.   We will be going out to the playground or for a walk on a regular basis.  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately and have a sweatshirt or jacket for when the weather gets cool.   If your child will be taking vacation during the Fall Session please let me know ahead of time so we can schedule the proper amount of staff.  Also, if your child is sick and will not be attending Kinder-Haus please call the office at 717-355-7801.

* It is very important to let the office staff  know if your child will be late or absent.   When picking up your child at the end of the day please check his/her locker for any papers that need to go home.  If our staff does not know you they will ask for your Drivers License before releasing your child.  If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child a note should be given, and they will also need identification and should be listed on the contract pick up list.

Your child will need the following:
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Diaper Cream
  • Sheet and blanket for naptime. (A crib sheet works nicely).
  • Entire extra set of weather and size appropriate clothing (top, bottoms, and socks)
  • Shoes
  • Sunscreen
****Please make sure everything is labeled with your child’s name or first initial and last name due to some children have the same initial.  We are looking forward to a year of learning, fun and adventures!  Can’t wait to learn all about your little one!   If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me at 717-355-7801

  Thank you,
